As a 503c(3) organization promoting equine-related education and safety in Alaska's interior, Interior Horse Council collaborates with youth programs such as 4-H and pony clubs. We also provide guidance and support to Tanana Valley Fairgrounds and sponsor local equine events. Our commitment to equine well-being and education drives our mission to create a safe and knowledgeable equine community in Alaska's interior. Our work encompasses promoting responsible horse ownership and offering educational resources.
Our events are held at the Horse Arenas, located at the back of the Tanana Valley State Fairgrounds.
IHC members may ride for free at the Tanana Valley Fairgrounds on designated days May through October. Designated days are as indicated on the Calendar.
Members wishing to ride at the fairgrounds must:
1. Either sign up as a ride manager (below) or attend when another member is acting as ride manager.
2. Children under the age of 18 must at all times on the fairgrounds be accompanied by a parent or guardian.
3. Provide a copy of the horses current EIA results
4. Have a current membership (both day and annual are available)
